Dr. Eng. Ciprian Alexandru Manea is a researcher in the Department of Metallic, Composite and Polymeric Materials at National Institute for R&D in Electrical Engineering ICPE-CA Bucharest ICPE-CA with over 8 years of experience in the field of high entropy alloys developed for corrosive environments. He graduated the doctoral studies at Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering from National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest with the PhD thesis entitled "Research on the obtaining and properties of the HfNbTaTiZr high entropy alloy". During his scientific career, he was a member in the research team of 2 H2020 EU projects aimed on solutions for the geothermal environment and coordinated a national Type D Subsidiary Research Contract with the title "Functional depositions (resistant to corrosion/wear) from high entropy alloys HEA-DF". Currently his work is focused on creating coatings solutions for wear and corrosive media from high entropy alloys by electro spark deposition and magnetron sputtering deposition techniques. Besides coatings, Ciprian has experience in material processing (metallic, ceramic, composites) by spark plasma sintering or classic sintering, but also metallic alloys elaboration in vacuum arc melting and electron beam melting techniques.
